Stanmore Station, London Road, Stanmore HA7 4PD

All the London railway stations :

I visited Stanmore station in July 2019. What an awfully designed station. The TFL brands this as step free from platform to street level. Maybe it is, but it is a horrible route to a subterranean car park, and via a long steep path. Use this station as a last resort.

This site is built in the remembrance of Andy who spent a considerable part of his life at a hospital near to this station. I hope he never tried to use it in his travels, I bet he did!

I took the steps to get back up to the station entrance, or you can go down the slippery slope to the car park.

Please note - Google AI states lift access at this stations. This is incorrect again. There is only lift access at Edgware Station. Stanmore station entry and exit requires a 110m journey via the station car park, including steep ramps. Please refer to Tfl website for further accessiblity information.

London Assembly question answered in 2012 is still correct in 2025 :
Stanmore Tube station offers a step-free route from the platform to street level via the car park, and involves the use of both a ramp from the platforms to the car park and also the access road which connects the car park to the street.
The ramp from the platforms to the car park, although long, does in fact comply with relevant guidelines for best practice. Many wheelchair users also need to negotiate the steep access road from the street to the car park. I appreciate that the current step-free route is not ideal, however, it is preferable to having no step-free route at all and is of benefit to a number of users, including some wheelchair users.
If customers cannot manage the step-free route at Stanmore, they do have the option of using local buses, all of which are fully accessible, to other nearby stations that may offer a more suitable step-free route to the platforms (via bus 324 to Kingsbury or bus 142 to Edgware for example).
